Hey there! I’m Andrea.
I’m a big-city girl, living in a small town, trying to
run a business that helps nonprofits
be the wife and mom God created me to be
be the person my dog thinks I am, and
have fun and live in the moment as much as I can!
I had the passion to be a writer at a young age, dreaming of writing a novel by the time I was in high school. By college, my journalism passion had twisted and turned into more of a business path and three colleges later, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from West Virginia University.
But throughout my twenty years of experience in design, fundraising, and marketing, from a newspaper advertising manager, to higher-education fundraiser and non-profit executive, one thing has been consistent - I understand the value of making a first impression.
"One Nine Design was created for the small shop and named after a passage of scripture that saved my life and still guides me today - Joshua 1:9."
Too often, I see non-profits and small businesses compromising on what's really important because of limited resources - either time, money or both. One Nine Design was created to help "the small shop" find the balance between professional branding and breaking the budget. My services focus around building modern and functional websites, designing email marketing campaigns, and a little of everything in between. I’m also committed to giving away a portion of every dollar I earn to female entrepreneurs around the world by making small loans to Kiva, as well as through supporting the local nonprofit community.
Before dedicating myself to One Nine Design full-time, I served as the Events & Marketing Coordinator for Downtown PKB. I have also had the honor of holding various leadership and fundraising roles with United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Baylor University, Florida Baptist Children's Homes, University of Florida, and the West Virginia University Foundation. One of my proudest accomplishments was receiving the 2015 Young Business Leader of the Year from the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce. I've recently joined the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
I am happily married to my husband Scott , mom of two awesome boys, and a puppy mom to our chocolate Labradoodle, Kai. I have an incurable case of wanderlust and a list a mile long of places I dream to visit. However, here at home in the Mid-Ohio Valley I enjoy watching movies, listening to podcasts, reading books, and getting outside for long walks with my dog!
Let’s create something amazing together!
