I will never tell you the platform matters more than the content. That’s just not how it works. That being said…
I've worked with WordPress, Drupal, Wix, Weebly, and a few others that aren't even around anymore. By far, the best experience for clients has been Squarespace, so that's what I recommend nine times out of ten.
A few reasons why: no plugins to break your site or slow it down, unlimited room to grow (add pages, upgrade to e-commerce, add calendars or blogs, whatever you need down the road), and automatic backups multiple times a day. Plus, if you ever need help, you're not pressing 1 and listening to hold music. You're calling, texting, or emailing me directly.

You could absolutely build it yourself, and plenty of people do. But here's why a designer is usually worth it:
Your time is valuable, and it takes most people far longer to do simple tasks on a platform they've never used. I've built enough sites to know exactly which layout and structure work best, so you skip the trial and error. Not every industry needs the same navigation, color scheme, or user experience, and small details matter more than people expect. I'm also certified in website accessibility, which most DIY builders simply aren't equipped to handle on their own. At the end of the day, a good designer builds a site that converts visitors into customers or donors, not just one that looks nice.
